Parasphendale affinis or the Budwing Mantis is a popular species originating from Eastern Africa.. They are a medium size species that comes in shades of light to medium brown.  As adults the wings have bright contrasting yellow on the underside and dark brown to black on the second pair of wings used as a threat display. This is a very aggressive species and will actively hunt down prey.
